Arizona Itinerary 1/2

We flew into Phoenix and drove our rental through Sedona, Flagstaff, and Page over three days. While we weren’t able to hit up everything on our bucket list (most notably Monument Valley and the Vermillion Cliffs), we thoroughly enjoyed our road trip through the heart of the American Southwest.

SEDONA

Montezuma’s Castle—

One of the best preserved ancient cliff dwellings in North America. We left in awe of human ingenuity and resilience, tough enough to carve a high rise apartment out of rock!

Wearing a Brixton hat, OV sports bra, Nili Lotan tank, Madewell shorts (old style, similar here and here), and Columbia boots.

Cathedral Rock & Airport Mesa Loop Trail—

Our favorite hikes in Sedona that reward you with gorgeous red rock vistas. Both are relatively moderate, but you will want to wear hiking shoes. In the spring/summer, you’ll want to make sure to wear sunscreen and stay hydrated!

I’m wearing Madewell shorts (old style, similar here and here), Brixton hat, Everlane jacket, and Columbia boots.

Devil’s Bridge—

Largest sandstone arch in Sedona! Another must-do hike. Definitely a climb with some natural stone steps (no hand rails), so if you have a fear of heights, you may want to be extra cautious.

I was too much of a wimp to stand on the thinnest part of the bridge because my legs were already trembling from acrophobia a few steps in,, but if you have the nerve, go for it! Obviously you’ll want to proceed with caution because it’s a long way down.

FLAGSTAFF

Grand Canyon (South Rim)—

Mather Point is super popular, so we ventured out to get away from the crowds. We hit up Grandview Point, Moran Point, Lipan Point, and Navajo Point.

Wearing vintage denim cutoffs (similar here and here), Everlane jacket, Athleta tank, OV sports bra, Columbia boots, Madewell bandana, and Ray Bans.

Our Merrell and Columbia boots were all we needed for all of our hikes in Arizona. We recommend packing solid hiking socks to prevent blisters.
